A few questions.
Hello all,
This is my first post. I just got both guild wars and GWfactions. I have a couple questions I would like to ask. 1. I got the game of the year edition of the first guild wars, and inside the cover it says that each proffesion of the game will have a uniuqe weapon tailored to the proffesion of the charactar you play. Is this weapon the one you have when you start the game? Just wondering cause it doesnt seem to be anything special at all. 2. I have installed both games but I am not able to pick from the new classes that the second game (factions) is supposed to have. Is this because I bought the collectors edition? Should I have just gotten the regular edition? 3. Does this game patch itself when you play? I see no option to check for updates or patches. 4. I think maybe the map they gave me with the collectors edition of Factions is the wrong map. It seems to be a completely different map than the one I am looking at in game. I dont seem to understand this one. 5. Is it possible to select a monster without your charactar automatically running up to it and attacking it? I ask because I would like to use a skill on it first and not just run up right off the bat. EDIT 6. Umm also what is the level cap on this game? I have lots of questions but I dont want to overload this post. Any help from you guys would be greatly apprieciated. Thank you in advance for all your help. 1. there should be a emote you need to type to get the weapons on the char you are playing ATT, i.e. for preorder factions it was /preorder, you got the Sin daggers ant Rit staff
2. You should have a faction’s campaign box and prophecies campaign box after you select to create a new PvE char, you can only creat the new Factions char in the factions campaign; if you did no have a factions campaign box when you created your Char you need to add the factions game key in manage you account, 3. Yes auto update 4. the Factions CE map it for Canta(Factions campaign area) only 5. The game dynamics will depend on what Char class you are playing, i.e. warrior with a sword will run up and hit the monitor with the sword, an elementlist will cast spell from a distance, and it will depend on what skill you are trying to us 6. 20 Last edited by magras; Jul 23, 2006 at 08:29 AM // 08:29.. |

Welcome to the forums and the game. I hope you enjoy both.
1. I'd assume it means weapons that have an attribute requirement. Say, a sword with a swordmanship requirement would be more advantageous in the hands of a character that meets that requirement than otherwise. I doubt it means the starter weaponry. 2. To get the Factions characters you will have to log into your Factions account. From your post, it sounds like you installed both games individually and are logging into the Prophecies game only. That is, you didn't merge them. Do you remember installing Prophecies then adding the Factions key to your existing account? Or did you create a new account with your Factions key? If the latter, you will have to log into the Factions account to access Assassin and Ritualist. At this point in time, I don't think it's possible to merge accounts if you've already created both, but that may change in the future. 3. Yes. When you start up Guild Wars, if there is an update it will automatically start uploading. You do not have to do anything specific for this: just starting the application will trigger it. 4. The Factions map will probably be of Cantha. If you're unable to access the Factions characters then you are probably playing on your Prophecies account (I assume) and therefore are playing in Tyria. (Tyria is a different continent from Cantha.) That may explain it. 5. You can use the Tab key to select creatures. You can also select them in the window then continue moving so you don't automatically attack them. If you move (or perform any action) after you select someone, they will still be selected but you won't try engage them. 6. The level cap is 20 for all characters. |

Wow thanks guys. This is great. I didnt think anybody was going to reply. Ok so I am to understand that there are to different worlds here? I mean each game is a different game (lol) not an add on? And by the way yes I did add it to my exsisting account so I have 6 character slots. I just didnt know that the factions game was basically a different game.
Here is what the box says about the weapons quoted. "SEVEN EXCLUSIVE WEAPONS" "Start your adventure with in-game gear available only with the Game of the Year Edition. Every profession gets a unique piece of equipment you wont find anywhere else! Really!!! Only level 20? I imagine getting to ten takes a while in its own right then huh? |

For Prophercies campaign created characters the time to level 10 can take a little longer than it will for factions campaign created ones. However alot of the quests in prophercies will give your characters experience and profession skills, where as in factions they'll have to buy their skills.
